Evening at Blizzarts

Last Thursday, I spent a few hours of the evening at Blizzarts listening to local talent present their poetry, prose and music. It was the issue #4 launch party of " The Veg Magazine ", hosted by Toby Houle ( Editor in Chief) a well know personality in the Montreal St.Laurent-Pins District). I was impressed with the quality of work presented by community of writers. Definitely, one of the crowd favourites was a Prose written and presented by Zachary Alapi (Editor-Emeritus of the Veg) entitled "Gap-Toothed Genevieve".
Canadian Finals Rodeo

Kajsa and I scored great seats to the Saturday afternoon rodeo! If you`ve never seen a rodeo your missing out. These guys are the craziest people alive. Who else would strap themselves to a 1000+ pounds of pure AAA Alberta beef (ok..not the edible kind) and hold on for 8 seconds. Now 8 seconds isn`t that long but it seems like an eternity. Possibly explains why only two out of the group of riders could do it. The other events were pretty cool...steer wrestling. These guys are like 300lbs min and can pin a steer in 5 seconds flat. I think I will make it to next years events and try to catch the cowboy poker event....yeah...4 crazy cowboys sit around a poker table in the middle of the ring and someone goes and lets a bull loose in the ring...last cowboy sitting gets the money!!!
Halloween Party

Great Halloween party put on by Brian Fleck. Man this guy decked out his entire house to fit with the god and demi-god theme. There were greco-roman columns, ancient statues of Greek gods, plenty of gods including three Hermes, a couple of Poseidons, but a few more contemporary gods like Google, the all mighty dollar and even one guy dressed as....Brian. And of course, a TON of great food..most of it GREEK! Oh, and the fireworks display which included two fire jugglers!!! I've got some video and plan to post it soon. I still can't believe he pulled off the fireworks. The best part of the fireworks was a guy dressed in a Roman style toga lighing all the fireworks!! Lucky for us, this Nero didn't burn down the house!
beauty and the beast...well not really..more like Persephone and Hades. Kajsa put our costumes together within an a couple of hours prior to the party! Not bad..eh!
Hanging with Kosta and Georgina

Kajsa and I spent some quality time with some of our favourite people today! We are going to be the proud Godparents of one little girl named Georgina. We still haven`t figured out what day this will all happen but we are happy as ever.
