This past week here in Edmonton has been miserably cold! Evening lows in the -30s range without accounting for windchill and -30s with windchill taken into account during the days. I'm staring to feel a bit of cabin fever setting in. All one can do to stay warm is to run from a nice warm house to a warm car and onto the next warm shelter. No real chance to venture out with the camera in hand without the threat of suffering frost bitten fingers. And it's a darn shame, because the snow has created a white frosting on everything and with the contrasts bright blue Albertan sky, you want to runout and make some amazing images. But alas, it is not meant to be, well for the next week at least. So in my desperation, I tried to find some salvation in some of my images from last years trip to Mauii!

Ahhhh, what I wouldn't give right now for a little sand and salty sea spray from the ocean! Actually, what is needed here in Edmonton is an indoor beach volleyball facility like the one they have in Montreal. I know we have the mall with the I door water-park but there is nothing like playing a couple of games of Beach Ultimate with some friends!
