A Cut above the Rest

Worked together with my favorite Hair and Makup artist Shawna from Eye Kandee to get nice set of images. The prep and shoot took place at Kyro Hair Salon. I had a bit of down time before the shoot so I decided to scout out a good spot for the images and to come up with a crazy nice shot for Shawna. When I spotted the old hair drier, I thought it would make a nice accent in the photo an may come out like a halo. I think it kind of works well. Overall, we had a ton of fun doing the quick set of headshots and no one got hurt.

I've been itching for weeks to find the time to put together a composite of all the best JUMPING and Dancing moves put on by Andre in his Photo Shoot Back on May 7th! I find it to be a nice Juxtaposition to his cool portrait photos!Can't wait to work with him again.

Classic

It seems that my life these days is driven by the weather so it comes as no surprise that I'm stuck inside on this rainy Edmonton day, I had nothing to do but edit photos. I came upon this one image I took over a month ago of a nice classic looking Ford. This beautiful car was parked just out front of my home. I took about 10 images from various angles and thought nothing of them until today when I pleasantly stumbled upon them while I was image mining my hard drives. This particular image captured my attention and I dedicated some time to give the image a cleaner studio look that I thought it deserved. I only wish I could get a hold of the owner so that I could give him a print of the final image of his/her car. Maybe one sunny day I'll see the car again!

Intensity

Sunday was a gorgeous day of an excuse to get outside and shoot something I love, Equestrian! Luckily, Amberlea Meadows Equestrian was having a show this long weekend. I just love the way the horses jump, to feel the power and grace as they fly through the air just meters away and of course the intense expressions of the rider's face. It seems that every sport be it Ultimate, hockey or equestrian, the expression on the athlete's face is so powerful and intense that it is difficult for one to look away! You are drawn into the moment and that is why I love to shoot sports!

Awesome photo shoot with Robin this evening downtown Edmonton. We almost had to reschedule the shoot due to the possibility of rain but we lucked out! Hair and Make up was provided by Shawna Brouse from Eye Kandee! As you can see, Shawna did a phenomenal job, totally professional and top notch attention to detail! Glad to have her on board for the shoot. Robin Affleck, our model, was amazing throughout the shoot, braving the cold winds in nothing but a Marilyn Monroe styled dress. A beautiful lady! Many Thanks to all who helped with lighting and equipment.

Robin & Josh

I had a great time with Robin and Josh during our photo shoot out at a local farm. At first we thought the weather would not cooperate but luckily, the sun came through and some nice clouds helped accent some of the photos. Unfortunately, the ground was still rather wet and muddy so we all had to wear rubber boots. Robin had a pair of cute boots which went well with the shoot! They were extremely good sports about some of the poses and being sent home with hay/straw in their clothing after a few shots up in the hay shed. Good memories made for all that day!

Energy!

I was very fortunate enough to work with Dre this weekend. The man is all go go go and when the camera starts a clicking he is all business! The two hours we spent together on the shoot just flew by! By the end, we had already generated new ideas for the next shoot! Can't wait to work with him again!

Summer is finally here!!!! Well, summer ultimate at least. Unfortunately, the weather is a bit chilly here in Edmonton but that didn't stop us from having fun! A couple of big dopey mosquitoes also tried to ruin our game to no avail! In the end, I'd have to say that Game 1 was a ton of fun. Great hucks and grabs by both teams. Awesome spirit as well. Can’t wait to play them next time!
